THE SCULPTURES
There are fifteen sculptures altogether, six have been commissioned by the River Colne Sculpture Trail and together with the existing sculptures they make an exciting and varied trail.
The trail runs from Milnsbridge to Eastergate, above Marsden. The sculptures are made in lots of different materials including steel, glass, aluminium and stone. One uses light, another amplifies the sounds of the valleys, others have lovely textures to feel. |
THE SCULPTURES - Milnsbridge to Linthwaite
In Milnsbridge there are five sculptures on the trail. Three of these sculptures were commissioned by the River Colne Sculpture Trail - Endless Pattern, Viaduct and Tools of the Day. They were part of the Milnsbridge Matters project which won a £50,000 Big Lottery grant through a televised vote on ITV’s Calendar news programme in November 2006.

In the town centre is Endless Pattern by Raphael Daden on Market Street. It is the centrepiece of the three ‘Milnsbridge Matters’ sculptures and is located behind the supermarket at the heart of the village. The sculpture site was refurbished with new paving stones, silver birch trees and bulbs planted. The trees as well as the sculpture are lit at night.
